So I am sitting down stairs watching T.V when my host brother yells down the stairs "Back your Bags Kate, were going to Berlin." So in about 3 hours from when he told me that, my bags were packed and we were on the night bus to the Stockholm airport which was about an 8 hour very uncomfortable lack of sleep ride. And Than once we got to the airport we took a 1 1/2 flight to Berlin. From there, we managed to get on a bus and on to a train to the center of Berlin, where in fact we were staying. Magnus was an exchange student to Indiana where he had met another exchange student there from Berlin, her name is Clara and she generously let us come stay with her at her apartment. We arrived to Berlin on a Tuesday and we left the following Monday. So in our stay in Berlin, we managed to figure out the train system, the bus system, and yes walking! I got to see the Brandenburg Gate, which during our stay the Berlin the Track and Field Championship were going on, so there was a lot of special events taking place, including the men and women's marathon run, which Magnus and I watched! Also We saw checkpoint charlie, The Berliner Dom, what's left of the Berlin Wall, The Holocaust Memorial, we went to the T.V tower which is 203 meters tall and we went all the way up and got a great look at the city. We also did a boat tour. And so much more. Clara also showed us around the city, and so did her friend Pia! I loved Berlin. Every morning when I woke up I ran down stairs ( Oh she lives in a apartment, on the highest floor, no elevator! it SUCKED) to the bakery.. And let me tell you they have the most amazing pastry's I have ever had! And than Finally I got my Starbucks! But also the German food was delicious, I love all the meat! The other thing about Berlin that I loved was the night life. Clara showed us around the whole city at night, and let me tell you a thursday night is just as good as a saturday night. Everyone is out! Sitting by the river, or at the clubs or Pubs, and its like 3 am! Also its so funny when your riding the train or walking down the streets you see everyone with a beer in their hand or a bottle of liquor taking shots before they go to the club. One night after finally going to bed about 3 Clara woke Magnus and I up Around 5 am, and said get up and follow me, she led us up some stairs into a attic and than onto the roof, there she laid a bed down and she said we have to watch the sunrise. And from the there we got a great view of the city and the sunrise, well I saw part of the sunrise but than I fell back asleep! but yes, Berlin was amazing, and I cant wait to go back there! Here are a few Pictures from the Trip.

In the Center in Sundsvall

So I have Been up to many things this past week and a half, I recently went on a 2 hour trip with Magnus down to Sundsvall, One of the bigger cities closest to me. There we went shopping, walked around by the water, and went to a really cool coffee shop. Also during the week the family had shown me there summer cottage that is about 10 minutes away. Magnus and I tried to fish ( proud to say I tied my first fishing knot.."kinda") But I did not catch anything so I went up and took a nap! Also Eva and I went to another town that I can not spell, but there we went for lunch and she showed me the Ski hill, along with a Ski Jump! On the 9th I left for Language camp first taking a bus down to Sundsvall to stay with another exchange student from France. And around 5am we took off south down to Vimerbery for a Language camp with the rest of the exchange students in Sweden which is about a 7 hour drive. I slept most of the way but we stopped in Stockholm to get food. There We walked around the city for an hour and looked at some of the shops. It was so pretty there I want to go back and shop there really soon! After Stockholm we went to the language camp and there we stayed in a bordering school, and we took swedish classes, sports classes, and a swedish society class. Sounds like a lot of work, but it was not. Classes were not that long, giving us alot of free time to meet the other exchange students, and eat! And when we had our meals potatoes, bread and butter were always there! Oh and of course coffee. Rotary also took us on a trip to Astrid Lingren's World. The author of Pipi Longstocking, and Many more books. There we walked around watched a view plays and played in the park. During the week the weather was not great, it was cold and raining, and I was not prepared. Other than that it was a very fun week meeting everyone!

We recently had a family dinner, and I have got to meet all of my host family! They are all very nice and great to be around. I have also been hanging out with Mangus and Eva, they have shown me around Solleftea, which is a very nice city. It has also been very warm here, so we have gotten a chance to swim in the river that is behind their house, although getting down to it is pretty hard since they live on top of the hill, you go down some rough terain, But they do have rope to hold on too, its very scary!! I have taken many pictures so take a look.

The Main Stage

Main Stage before an Act

The front of the festival, you can kind of see a play area for the children.

Yesterday my host mom Gunilla and her son Magnus took me to see the music festival. It was raining during the day but later in the evening it became very nice outside. The festival had two stages. a big one where more popular artist played and than a smaller one. They had different types of food, and i tried some, and they were very good. I also got to meet my older host sisters Asa and Susanna. They are very nice and welcoming. Here are some pictures of the Music Festival.

I'm Here

Finally arrived to Solleftea Sweden. And it is very pretty here lots and lots of trees, with two rivers running down by the town. They have a small cozy house with a pretty backyard with the river behind us. Here are some pictures of the house.
